As a handyman I’ve installed quite a few kitchen faucets. They mostly require you to crawl into the base cabinet under the sink, if there’s room obviously to secure the stem from under the counter and behind the sink. This problem is exacerbated if the base cabinet has shelves or garbage bin slider.
Fortunately this problem has been solved by Kraus. Their faucets are installed from the top. Maybe there are other manufacturers but I just came across Kraus and that’s the only one I know about so far.
It has a QuickDock mounting assembly which is inserted into the counter top hole for the faucet from the top. No need to crawl under the sink. You just appreciate when you see someone has solved another problem. Genius!
